These Terms & Conditions apply to all photography sessions booked with Kate See Photography, including newborn, maternity, family, milestone, birth story and documentary-style sessions.
By paying a booking fee, confirming a session, attending a session, or purchasing products or digital images, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
## 1. Photographer
Kate See Photography is a newborn, maternity and family photography business based in Bromley, working across London.
For enquiries, please contact:
## 2. Booking Fee
A 25% booking fee is required to secure your session date or estimated session window.
This booking fee reserves time in the photographer’s calendar and covers administration, preparation, communication, planning and availability. It is non-refundable except in the unlikely event that Kate See Photography cancels the session and no suitable alternative can be agreed.
For newborn sessions, the booking is held around the baby’s expected arrival date. Babies arrive in their own time, and the final session date will be arranged after birth.
## 3. Payment
The remaining balance is due 7 days before the session, unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing.
Payment plans may be available by prior agreement, with the final balance due before the gallery or final products are delivered.
Additional products, prints, albums, wall art, frames, extra images or extra session time are charged separately unless already included in the chosen collection.
## 4. Collections & What Is Included
The chosen collection will include the items stated in the booking confirmation or proposal at the time of booking.
Kate See Photography currently offers newborn, maternity, family, milestone, documentary newborn, birth story and first year options. Collection details, image numbers, session length, products and delivery timeframes may vary by session type.
Any offers, prices or packages are valid only at the time they are quoted and may change in the future.
## 5. Session Style
Kate See Photography specialises in elegant, carefully guided and gently posed newborn and family photography, with natural family moments included where appropriate.
Newborn sessions often include classic posed portraits such as wrapped poses, curled poses, hands-under-chin style portraits, parent images, sibling images and quiet lifestyle moments.
Every baby and child is different. While every effort is made to create a beautiful and varied gallery, no specific pose, expression, image, number of setups, sibling cooperation, sleeping image or exact photograph can be guaranteed.
The baby’s safety and comfort always come first. If a baby does not settle safely into a pose, that pose will not be attempted or continued.
## 6. In-Home Sessions
Most sessions take place in the client’s home, unless another location has been agreed.
Kate See Photography may bring lighting, backdrops, wraps, fabrics, headbands, small props and other session materials where appropriate.
The client does not need to have a perfect home. The photographer will work with suitable light, available space and the natural rhythm of the household.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the home or chosen location is reasonably safe and accessible for the session.
## 7. Maternity Sessions
Maternity sessions may take place at home or outdoors, usually during the third trimester.
Maternity styling, fabrics, gowns, bare-skin portraits and partner or sibling images can be discussed before the session. Bare-skin or intimate portraits are always optional and handled with care and discretion.
Hair and makeup may be arranged on request at an additional cost, where available.
## 8. Family & Milestone Sessions
Family and milestone sessions may take place at home, outdoors, or both, depending on the agreed session plan.
Children are photographed gently and with respect for their age, mood and energy. Parents remain responsible for supervising their children at all times during the session.
Cake smash sessions, if booked, may include additional styling, cake, props or set preparation depending on the agreed arrangement.
## 9. Birth Photography
Birth photography is documentary in nature and depends on the timing and circumstances of labour, hospital or birth-centre rules, medical decisions, available light, access and the wellbeing of mother and baby.
Kate See Photography cannot guarantee attendance at every stage of labour or guarantee specific birth images. Birth photography will always be carried out respectfully and subject to medical staff guidance.
Birth photography is accepted on a limited basis only.
## 10. Rescheduling
Sessions may be rescheduled in cases of illness, birth complications, family emergency, severe weather for outdoor sessions, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Please give as much notice as possible.
For newborn sessions, flexibility is built into the booking because babies rarely arrive exactly on their due date.
Repeated cancellations, failure to attend, or last-minute cancellations without reasonable cause may result in the booking fee being lost.
## 11. Client Preparation
Preparation guidance may be provided before the session.
The client understands that failure to follow preparation guidance, where relevant, may affect the final images. This may include timing, baby feeding, room temperature, styling, outfit preparation, home access, or availability of family members.
## 12. Session Length
Session lengths are approximate and may vary depending on the baby, child, family, light, location and chosen collection.
Newborn sessions are usually paced around the baby and may take up to 2–3 hours depending on the collection. Additional time may be charged where required and agreed.
## 13. Artistic Style & Editing
The client acknowledges that they are booking Kate See Photography because of the photographer’s existing portfolio, style, experience and artistic judgement.
All final images are selected and edited by the photographer. The photographer’s decision on image selection is final.
RAW or unedited files are not supplied.
Standard editing includes colour correction, black and white conversion where appropriate, tonal adjustments, cropping and the photographer’s usual finishing style.
Additional retouching, body editing, extensive background changes, object removal, skin retouching beyond the photographer’s standard approach, or further edits requested after gallery delivery may incur an additional fee.
## 14. Image Delivery
Final edited images are delivered through a private online gallery.
Newborn galleries are normally delivered within approximately 1 week where stated. Other galleries may be delivered within approximately 3 weeks unless otherwise agreed.
Sneak peeks may be provided at the photographer’s discretion.
Delivery times are estimates and may vary during busy periods, illness, family emergency, technical issues or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
## 15. Online Gallery
The client is responsible for downloading and safely storing their images before the gallery expires.
Kate See Photography does not guarantee permanent storage of images after delivery. Archived images may be deleted after a reasonable period.
A gallery re-upload or archive retrieval, if available, may incur an additional fee.
## 16. Prints, Albums & Products
Prints, albums, folio boxes, framed products and other physical items are made to order.
Because photographic products are personalised and created to the client’s specification, they cannot usually be cancelled, returned or refunded unless faulty or incorrectly supplied.
The client is responsible for checking spelling, names, dates, album layouts and product details before approval.
Colour may vary slightly between screens and printed products because monitors, phones and tablets display colour differently. Professional print products are produced using calibrated professional processes.
## 17. Personal Use Licence
Copyright in all images remains with Kate See Photography.
The client receives a personal-use licence for purchased digital images. This means the client may print, download, store and share images with family and friends for personal, non-commercial use.
The client may not sell images, enter them into commercial competitions, use them for business promotion, submit them to magazines, provide them to brands, edit them, apply filters, alter them, remove watermarks, use screenshots instead of purchased files, or allow third-party commercial use without written permission.
## 18. Social Media Sharing
The client may share purchased images on personal social media accounts.
Images should not be edited, filtered, cropped heavily, recoloured, or altered before posting.
Credit to Kate See Photography is appreciated.
## 19. Use of Images by Kate See Photography
Kate See Photography may ask to use selected images for portfolio, website, blog, social media, printed samples, exhibitions, competition entries or promotional purposes.
Because these sessions often involve babies and children, client privacy is respected. Clients may request that images are kept private.
Images considered sensitive, intimate or inappropriate for public display will not be published.
For complete privacy, the client should confirm this in writing before the session.
## 20. Model Release & Privacy Preference
Image usage permission may be discussed separately from the booking terms.
The client may choose whether or not Kate See Photography may use identifiable images publicly.
Where the session includes children, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have authority to give permission regarding the child’s images.
## 21. Safety
The safety and comfort of babies, children and families is always the priority.
Newborn posing is carried out gently and safely. Parents remain nearby during newborn sessions.
The photographer may stop, pause or change the session if a baby or child appears unsettled, unsafe, unwell or uncomfortable.
The client must tell the photographer before the session about any relevant health concerns, allergies, birth complications, feeding issues, medical needs, mobility issues or safety concerns.
## 22. Illness
Please do not attend or continue a session if anyone participating has a contagious illness, fever, vomiting, infectious rash, heavy cold, flu symptoms, COVID-like symptoms or any condition that may put a newborn, pregnant client, family member or photographer at risk.
Kate See Photography may reschedule a session if illness creates a safety concern.
## 23. Travel & Parking
Travel within Greater London is included where stated in the collection.
Any additional travel, congestion charges, ULEZ charges, parking fees, tolls or location fees may be charged to the client where applicable and agreed.
For in-home sessions, the client should advise in advance about parking, access, stairs, lifts or restrictions.
## 24. Locations, Permits & Weather
For outdoor sessions, the client and photographer will agree a suitable location.
Some locations require permits, photography permission, entry fees or parking fees. These are the client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled due to unsuitable weather or poor light at the photographer’s discretion.
## 25. Client Behaviour
Kate See Photography reserves the right to end a session where there is unsafe, abusive, inappropriate, aggressive or unreasonable behaviour.
In such circumstances, no refund will be due.
## 26. Limitation of Liability
In the unlikely event of total photographic failure, equipment failure, file corruption, illness, accident, loss, cancellation, or circumstances beyond reasonable control, the photographer’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the client for the affected session.
Kate See Photography is not liable for indirect, consequential or emotional loss.
## 27. Force Majeure
Kate See Photography is not liable for failure to perform obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, accident, transport disruption, equipment failure, fire, flood, extreme weather, acts of God, government restrictions, hospital restrictions, venue restrictions or family emergency.
## 28. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects the client’s statutory rights.
Where applicable, consumer cancellation rights will be respected. However, personalised photographic products, custom albums, bespoke prints and made-to-order items may not be cancellable once production has begun, unless faulty.
## 29. Website Content
All photographs, text, design, branding, blog content and materials on the Kate See Photography website are protected by copyright and may not be copied, reproduced, downloaded, altered or used without written permission.
## 30. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
## 31. Acceptance
Payment of the booking fee, written confirmation of a booking, attendance at a session, or purchase of products constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
