What Does Newborn Photography Cost in London?

It's one of the first things people type into Google when they find out they're expecting. I know, because I can see the searches. And it's a completely fair question — so here's an honest answer.

Newborn photography in London ranges from around £150 to over £2,000. That gap is not random. It reflects genuine differences in experience, equipment, time, and what you actually receive at the end.

What you're paying for isn't just someone's presence in your home for two hours. It's the eighteen years of knowing exactly how to settle a baby who won't sleep, the professional lighting that travels with them, the hours of careful editing afterwards, and — in most cases — something physical to hold at the end. A print, an album, a wall piece that will still be on your wall in twenty years.

At the lower end of the market, you'll typically receive a disc of lightly edited files. The photographer may be talented and just starting out — there's nothing wrong with that. But newborn photography specifically asks a lot of experience. Babies in those first two weeks need to be handled with patience, knowledge, and a very calm energy. Rushing, or pushing a pose a baby isn't ready for, shows in the images — and carries a small but real safety consideration.

In London, photographers with several years of experience and a consistent body of work tend to start from around £500–£600 for a session with digital images. Collections that include fine art prints, albums, or wall pieces range from there upward.
